KAI Notes An Increase In Blambangan Express Train Customers By 30.21 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded an increase in the customers of the Blambangan Ekspres train by 30.21 percent in the January period of October 2025. Total subscribers reached 446,122 people, up from 342,608 people in the same period in 2024.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that this positive trend reflects the increasing public trust in rail-based transportation services.

"Express symbol has a strong character as the main liaison between Java Island areas, as well as a choice of people who prioritize comfort and travel efficiency," Anne said in a statement to the media, Saturday, November 8.

The Blambangan Express train serves the Ketapang 'Pasar Senen relation via the north Java (Surabaya Pasarturi' Semarang Tawang) round and round. With a distance of 1,031 km, this train is the longest intercity service with the longest track in Indonesia, crossing four provinces, namely DKI Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

Throughout its journey, the Blambangan Express passed 9 cities and 10 districts, stopped at 29 stations, and crossed 146 active stations. This route connects urban areas, economic centers, as well as tourist destinations on the north coast and east of Java Island.

A series of Blambangan Expresses with a capacity of 394 customers, consisting of 5 stainless steel executive trains and 2 New Generation economic trains. The executive class is equipped with 360-degree revolving chairs, dining tables, and ergonomic footwear. The economic class comes with a modern container seat that can be arranged for its clothing, providing convenience equivalent to premium services.

Anne explained, KAI continues to strengthen inter-regional connectivity to encourage economic activity, tourism, and community mobility.

"Services such as Blambangan Express open new economic opportunities for the region they pass through and have a direct impact on the people around the railway line," he explained.

This customer growth shows how KAI's contribution in expanding access to safe and reliable transportation is.
