JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) revealed that the financial burden is very large from the construction of toll roads assigned by the government.

Waskita Karya President Director Muhammad Hanugroho stated, of the total 18 toll roads that have been built by the company, only a small number have received budget support from the government.

"I calculated a total of 18 toll roads that Waskita had built, the total project value was Rp. 167 trillion. The government only supports Rp. 20 trillion," said Hanugroho at the Public Expose 2025, Tuesday, November 4.

The man who akrap called Oho explained that the development scheme was implemented more commercially based, which Waskita had to bear the costs of development not covered by government support.

"This means that there is a good support as well, but the commercial base we use, so Waskita is like this," he said.

With such a project financing model, Ojo acknowledged that the cost of funds that must be borne by WSKT swelled.

"Indeed, there is a burden that we cannot afford regarding the cost fund costs that we must bear," said Oho.

In the midst of this burden, the company is trying to survive by relying on new projects and commitments to the restructuring process.

To be able to survive, according to Oho, WSKT requires a measurable new contract value (NKB) every year.

In its calculation, at least the company must be able to obtain a break event point (BEP) of IDR 14 trillion to IDR 15 trillion for the project being implemented.

"Actually, how much is the BEP, so that we can survive. At most Rp. 14-15 trillion, yes. We are safe with that figure. We can provide services, related to interest costs and others," he explained.

Currently, the company must not only complete its restructuring obligations to creditors, but also bear the financial burden legacy of national strategic projects assigned to them.

Meanwhile, WSKT still recorded a loss of IDR 3.6 trillion in September 2025. This figure is almost equivalent to the same period in the previous year.

Waskita Karya Finance Director Wiwi Suprihatno said the company was still in the recovery stage with a main focus on reducing liabilities and adjusting the proportion of assets.

"Meanwhile, in terms of the bottom line, net losses were still recorded at IDR 3.6 trillion. This is almost the same as the previous year, which the company is still in the recovery phase," explained Wiwi.

The company's operating revenue was only IDR 5.3 trillion, down 22 percent compared to the same period last year.
