Bulog Implements Modern Agriculture Technology In Karawang, Padi Productivity Increases

KARAWANG - Efforts to modernize agriculture began to show results in Karawang. Through the PMO Mitra Tani program, Perum Bulog carried out the IR 32 rice harvest on an independent cultivation area of 5.5 hectares (ha), Kepuh Village, Jatisari District, Karawang Regency, West Java.

The land is part of a total of 14.5 ha cultivation managed in the Karawang area. This harvest is a marker of the successful implementation of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) as well as evidence that agricultural efficiency and productivity can be achieved without sacrificing environmental sustainability.

In the cultivation activities of PMO Mitra Tani, Bulog applies modern agricultural technology based on efficiency and sustainability. The technology used includes fertilization using drones, utilizing biostimulants and biopesticides, as well as using the combine plant plant plant machine (CHM) in the harvest process.

Deputy Director of Perum Bulog, Marga Taufik said that by implementing modern agricultural technology, yield yields could increase to 7.2 tons per ha from the previous 4.3 tons per ha.

"And the results after we harvest the 5 hectares, the (peen) results are quite good 7.2 tons (per hectare)," he said in Kepuh Village, Jatisari District, Karawang Regency, West Java, Tuesday, November 4.

Marga said that the processing of grain from the PMO Mitra Tani harvest was carried out using facilities belonging to Perum Bulog, namely the Karawang Rice Milling Center (SPP).

Furthermore, Marga said this step was part of Bulog's efforts to strengthen the supply chain from upstream to downstream, as well as optimize the company's assets to support national food availability.

"So as we know Bulog is a company activity downstream, but once again we also want to get good results. Of course we also need good cultivation results, that's why we are here together with the community to provide a good planting method," he said.
