A Year Prabowo-Gibran: KKP Dismantles 2,258 Cases, Saves Potential State Loss Of IDR 6.79 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) managed to save a potential state loss of Rp6.79 trillion from marine and fishery resources during one year of President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's administration.

Director General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) Pung Nugroho Saksono said that his party had handled 2,258 cases in the marine and fisheries sector. Of these, 2,209 cases were subject to administrative sanctions and 49 other cases were processed criminally.

These cases include the arrest of vessels for illegal fishing perpetrators, controlling illegal foreign clumps, thwarting the smuggling of lobster clear seeds (BBL), trading protected fish types, monitoring destructive fishing to taking action against the use of sea space without a permit.

"From this performance, the calculation of the potential state loss that was saved was Rp. 3.59 trillion," said the man who was familiarly called Ipunk in his official statement, quoted Thursday, October 30.

In addition, the KKP controls 121 illegal foreign families in various regions, such as the Sulawesi Sea, the Pacific Ocean and Tomini Bay, with the value of state losses that have been avoided reaching Rp. 96.8 billion.

The KKP also thwarted the smuggling of more than 8 million BBL to be sent abroad, with a potential state loss of IDR 1.02 trillion.

In West Kalimantan, the Directorate General (Ditjen) of PSDKP succeeded in uncovering the practice of smuggling and trading cross-border turtle eggs in Sambas Regency, with evidence of 103,400 eggs worth Rp. 10.3 billion.

In addition, 551 super red arowana fish without a permit were confiscated in Pontianak with a potential loss of IDR 1.3 billion and 1.5 tons of illegal fish drugs destroyed in Bangka Belitung worth IDR 6.25 billion.

Meanwhile, in an effort to prevent destructive fishing using bombs, potassium and anesthetics, the Directorate General of PSDKP handled 19 cases with a total potential loss of IDR 4.75 billion.

Finally, the Directorate General of PSDKP suspended sea space utilization activities without KKPRL documents for 87 cases and 9 cases of sea water utilization other than energy (ALSE), with the potential for state losses that were saved reaching Rp2.07 trillion.
