JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI canceled 16 train trips due to flooding in Semarang, Central Java, which flooded parts of the tracks.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said KAI together with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) and the Class 1 Semarang Railway Engineering Center (BTP) continued to take integrated handling steps to lower water levels around the affected rail lines.

"Including pumping, cleaning channels, and checking the stability of rail pads," Anne said in an official statement, Wednesday, October 29.

Anne said the train travel arrangement step was due to this condition, KAI Daop 4 Semarang canceled and changed temporary relations for a number of train trips.

"As of October 29, 2025 at 11.30 WIB, the train was canceled while there were 16 trips," he said.

Anne said that as a form of service responsibility, KAI provides 100 percent ticket fee refunds outside of message duties for customers whose trips are canceled.

"Refund submissions can be made at the station counter or through Contact Center 121, up to a maximum of D+7 from the date of departure. KAI officers at the station are also on standby to help customers affected by changes in schedules and cancellations of travel," he explained.

Sejak Selasa malam 28 Oktober, KAI bersama BTP Semarang telah mengerahkan petugas teknis dan peralatan pompa air, serta menyiapkan lokomotif bantuan BB 304 dan CC 300 untuk mendukung proses penanganan di lapangan.

Anne mengatakan, pemantauan kondisi ketinggian air dilakukan secara intensif selama 24 jam untuk memastikan keamanan lintas sebelum kembali dibuka.

“Kami menyampaikan permohonan maaf atas ketidaknyamanan yang dirasakan para pelanggan. KAI berterima kasih atas kesabaran dan pengertian masyarakat. Seluruh jajaran saat ini terus berupaya maksimal agar kondisi lintas segera pulih dan pelayanan dapat kembali normal,” tutup Anne.

Since Tuesday night, October 28, KAI together with BTP Semarang have deployed technical officers and water pump equipment, as well as prepared a locomotive of BB 304 and CC 300 assistance to support the handling process in the field.

Anne said monitoring of water levels was carried out intensively for 24 hours to ensure traffic security before reopening.
