JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Budi Santoso will make a working visit to Malaysia to accompany President Prabowo Subianto to attend the 47th ASEAN Summit (KTT).
The event was at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 25 to 28 May 2025.
Budi said the 47th ASEAN Summit was a strategic forum for ASEAN leaders. The forum is a forum for discussion to strengthen regional economic synergy and cooperation, face global challenges, and encourage inclusive and sustainable economic integration in the Southeast Asia region.
"I will accompany the President in a series of ASEAN's 47th Summit activities which will be held in Malaysia tomorrow. Budi also revealed that Indonesia's commitment is in line with the theme "ASEAN Chairship 2025", namely "Inclusiveness and Sustainability".

According to Budi, this theme is a shared commitment in strengthening regional resilience.

In addition to accompanying the president on the main agenda, Budi is also scheduled to attend a number of other ASEAN meetings, including the ASEAN Joint Foreign and Economic Ministers Meeting and bilateral meetings with partner countries.
Budi will also sign two important documents on the sidelines of the summit meeting, namely the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) 3.0 Upgrade Protocol and The Second Protocol to Amend the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA).
