Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi instructed all land, sea, air and trains to conduct ramp checks or safety inspections as a whole.
Dudy said this was done to ensure safety aspects during the 2025 Christmas Transport and 2026 New Year (Nataru).
"The Ministry of Transportation will ensure that transportation safety aspects are a top priority, so I have instructed ramp checks of all modes of transportation, including with human resources," he said in an official statement, Friday, October 24.
Dudy said that through ramp check activities or safety inspections, the Ministry of Transportation also ensured that the entire fleet was in an operating condition.
For land transportation modes, continued Dudy, the ramp check will be held nationally from 7 November 2025 to 2 January 2026, including terminals, bus pools, to strategic tourist routes.
"The target for ramp check operations is 15,000 vehicles," he said.
In the rail transportation mode, continued Dudy, ramp checks are carried out on railway facilities and infrastructure, including inspection of Minimum Service Standards (SPM) and inspections of safety across operations.
"Meanwhile, in the air transportation sector, the ramp check includes 560 scheduled commercial passenger aircraft, with details of 366 units ready for operation and 194 units being treated," he explained.
Then for sea transportation, every passenger ship is required to undergo seaworthiness checks at all port monitoring points. The inspection is also strengthened by coordination with the BMKG to monitor the weather and prepare standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the event of extreme weather.
"We will ensure that the entire fleet is ready to operate safely and safely so that people feel calm while traveling," he said.
To support supervision during service period, the Ministry of Transportation also held an Integrated Command Post for Transportation Nataru 2025/2026 which will operate for 19 days, from 18 December 2025 to 5 January 2026.
This post involves more than 12,000 personnel from elements of Ministries/Institutions as well as stakeholders including the Ministry of Transportation, Komdigi, Police, BMKG, Jasa Marga, and transportation operators throughout Indonesia. The central command post will be located at the Office of the Ministry of Transportation Jakarta, which is connected in real-time with regional posts through an integrated monitoring system.
In addition to focusing on safety and supervision aspects, continued Dudy, the government is also preparing economic stimulus in the transportation sector to maintain the affordability of public travel costs. One concrete step that has been taken is the provision of flight rate discounts and tariff incentives for rail, sea, and crossing modes.

"This policy is expected to help people enjoy more affordable travel while at the same time encouraging the movement of the national economy," he said.
Dudy emphasized that the success of the implementation of Nataru 2025/2026 transportation depends on cross-sectoral synergy, community compliance, and the readiness of transportation operators.
The government, he continued, is currently still coordinating with relevant ministries, institutions, and stakeholders to finalize Nataru's operational plans and traffic control.
"In the near future, the results of the coordination will be stated in the Joint Decree (SKB) as the basis for implementation in the field," he said.
