JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) and the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) strengthen synergies in encouraging increased national investment through the provision of integrated and sustainable electricity solutions.

This is realized through the signing of the Cooperation Agreement Addendum (PKS) on the Provision of Electricity and the Acceleration of Investment in the Electricity Sector.

Deputy for Investment Cooperation at the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM, Tirta Nugraha Mursitama, said that the collaboration between BKPM and PLN is a strategic step to strengthen the national investment ecosystem, by providing convenience for potential investors in accessing reliable, efficient, and integrated electricity services to accelerate project realization.

"The Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/BKPM cannot stand alone. Coordination and synergy are needed with all parties, both local governments, business worlds, and academics," said Tirta, quoted Thursday, October 23.

Meanwhile, PLN's Director of Retail and Commerce, Adi Prianto, said that as the backbone of electricity, PLN is ready to support a conducive investment climate and accelerate national strategic projects through the provision of reliable electricity supply for all business sectors.

"As a form of commitment in providing the best service for investors, PLN ensures the availability of reliable electricity and support to support investment needs in the country," said Adi.

Adi explained that this addendum strengthens the PKS PLN-BKPM which has been established since 2024. Both parties agreed to form a Desk PLN Liaison Officer at the BKPM office as a one-stop electRICity solution center, which makes it easier for potential investors to access electricity information and coordination related to the availability and development of electricity infrastructure.

"Through this integration, PLN together with BKPM seeks to provide efficient, transparent, and ensuring services for strategic investors in making business decisions," he continued.

This collaboration also opens investment opportunities in the new renewable energy sector (EBT), in line with the 2025 2034 Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) which targets the addition of generating capacity of 69.5 gigawatts (GW), with 76 percent or 52.9 GW coming from EBT and storage. This RUPTL is a strategic foundation for the development of clean energy in Indonesia, while strengthening energy independence and encouraging sustainable economic growth.

"This green RUPTL provides certainty and convenience for investors, as well as encourages the development of sustainable clean energy projects throughout Indonesia," said Adi.
