Purbaya Ensures BLT Is IDR 30 Trillion Not Burdening State Finances: We Are Rich!

JAKARTA - The government has changed the results of budget efficiency to a stimulus for the community with a total allocation of IDR 30 trillion.

Additional APBN funds will be disbursed for the People's Welfare Direct Cash Assistance Program (BLT), with a target recipient of more than 35 million beneficiary families (KPM) from October to December 2025.

Minister of Finance (Menkeu), Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, revealed that the additional budget of Rp 30 trillion only for BLT will not burden the state's finances much.

"Our budget is from the state budget. We are rich, you shouldn't think we are poor. We are rich too. If it's Rp. 30 trillion, it can be done," said Purbaya at the Ministry of Public Works (PU) office, Jakarta, quoted on Sunday, October 19.

According to him, with a new budget injection of IDR 30 trillion, it will stimulate the increase in purchasing power of the lower economy so that it can indirectly move economic growth.

"But that's what's important directly to the community. So it will strengthen purchasing power. If it's announced like that, it's not 5.5 percent economic growth anymore, our calculation is 5.67 percent, almost 5.7," said Purbaya Yudhi Sadive.

BLT IDR 30 trillion from efficiency

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, representing President Prabowo Subianto, said the funds came from the reallocation of the APBN.

"Efficiency results. Budget reallocation. The fourth quarter is IDR 16.2 trillion, plus IDR 30 trillion," said Airlangga when announcing the economic stimulus at the Indonesian Post Office, Menteng, Jakarta, last Friday, quoted from Antara.

The number of additional BLT recipients this time has doubled to 35,046,783 families. Assuming one family consists of four members, this assistance is estimated to reach more than 140 million residents.

Airlangga explained that the assistance targeted community groups in deciles 1 to 4 based on National Socio-Economic Data (DSEN).

This program is an addition outside the regular BLT distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs to 20.88 million families through the family of hope and basic food assistance program. For aid distribution, the government divides the distribution channels in two ways.

A total of 18.3 million families will receive BLT through the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) starting next week, while the other 17.2 million families will be distributed through PT Pos Indonesia starting Monday (20/10/2025).

Today will be carried out symbolically to 50 people who have never received assistance before. So, this is the first to enter the 17.2 million mark because the regular one is 18.2 million," said Airlangga.
