Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the Government will prepare a budget of IDR 30 trillion to expand the direct cash assistance (BLT) program in the fourth quarter of 2025.

He explained that the funds came from the results of the government's efficiency and budget reallocation.

"Rp30 trillion, new (budget), the results of budget reallocation efficiency," told the media crew, Friday, October 17.

In expanding this program, the government will distribute BLT to as many as 35,046,783 beneficiary families (KPM) for three months, namely October, November, and December 2025.

"Mr. President (Prabowo Subianto) asked to add this direct cash assistance which will be provided in October, November, and December 2025, and will be received by 35,046,783 beneficiary families," he said.

According to him, this number is greater than the previous BLT program, if it is assumed that one beneficiary family consists of a father, mother, and two children, then this program is estimated to reach around 140 million people.

Airlangga added that the data on BLT recipients includes community groups in deciles 1 to 4, based on social data from the National Economic Census.

This BLT program is an addition outside of regular assistance distributed every month by the Ministry of Social Affairs, such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Non-Cash Food Assistance (sembako), which reaches 20.88 million KPM every month.

Airlangga explained that the distribution will be distributed through two routes, namely around 18.3 million families will receive BLT through the State Bank Association (Himbara), while the other 17.2 million families will receive assistance through PT Pos Indonesia.

Airlangga added that as a symbol, he would distribute direct cash assistance to 50 beneficiary families.

"And this is also ready to be given starting Monday, and today it will be done symbolically to 50 people who have never received assistance before. So this is the first to enter the 17.2 million mark, because the regular one is 18.2 million," he said.

In addition, the Government will also increase the quota of internship programs for university graduates as many as 80,000 participants.

Meanwhile, this addition is part of the target of a total of 100 thousand internship program participants by 2025.

Airlangga said that this internship program aims to provide work experience for new graduates (fresh graduates) in various sectors, such as the business world, industry, SOEs, government institutions, to Bank Indonesia.

He conveyed that this initiative was part of the government's efforts to encourage the creation of productive jobs in various sectors.

"The first batch of Internship participants is 20 thousand people, and this has been opened and started working on October 20. Then next month it will be reopened, and increased to 80 thousand Internship participants," he said.

Airlangga added that each intern will receive a monthly pocket money that is adjusted to regional standards, both districts and cities.

In addition, he conveyed that the participants would also receive protection through the Job Loss Guarantee (JKP) and Death Security (JKM) contributions, without any deduction from the pocket money given by the government.

Airlangga explained that to date, 1,666 companies have registered to provide internship positions, with a total of 26,181 available vacancies. Meanwhile, the number of applicants has reached 156,159 people.
