PTPP Expands Surabaya-Gempol Toll Road, Solutions Reduce Congestion And Accelerate East Java Mobility

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP), a national construction and investment company under the auspices of Danantara Indonesia, officially started the work on the Increase in the Capacity of the Kejapanan Segment Line (KM 769+450 s.d 772+650) on the Surabaya Toll Road "Gempol", with a contract value of Rp140.3 billion (including VAT).

This strategic project is targeted to be completed within 270 calendar days (9 months). This step is an important part of PTPP's efforts to support the Asta Cita Pemerintah program, especially in the pillars of equitable infrastructure development and national connectivity. With this capacity increase, it is hoped that the vital toll roads connecting the cities of Surabaya and Gempol can unravel congestion, facilitate community mobility, and strengthen economic growth in the East Java region.

PTPP's Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, explained that this project uses the direction portal gangtry method, which allows bridge work to be carried out more quickly, efficiently, and safely.

The path widening is carried out on the median toll road with a narrow workspace, so it requires careful planning and high safety standards. Despite the challenges, we are optimistic that this project will be completed on time with the best quality," he said, in a written statement, Friday, October 10.

Furthermore, Joko emphasized that this project is not just an increase in the capacity of toll roads, but is part of efforts to facilitate the flow of transportation, reduce travel time, and support East Java's economic growth. The Surabaya Toll Road is one of the lifebloods of the economy in East Java.
