Edwin Soeryadjaya is an Indonesian businessman with the name Chinese Tjia Han Pun. Born on July 17, 1949 in Jakarta. Edwin himself is the second son of the late William Soeryadjaya who is known as the founder entrepreneur of Astra International. He has an older brother named Edward Soeryadjaya who is also known as a businessman.

Born from the blood of big entrepreneurs, Edwin's interest in the business world has been seen since he was young. He even chose to major in business administration at the University of Southern California (USC), United States and managed to win a Bachelor of Business Administration title in 1974.

After getting enough formal education abroad, Edwin then returned to Indonesia. He joined his father's company, namely PT Astra International at the age of 29. Edwin's joining in Astra turned out to be quite a big change.

Edwin succeeded in restructuring the company's finances in 1988. After that in 1990, Edwin brought Astra as a public company. The news of Astra's on the floor at that time was also quite large news and attracted the attention of many investors.

Unfortunately in 1993, Edwin, who at that time served as Vice President of Astra, decided to resign because of the problems that hit his family's economy. Even Astra's shares have been sold.

In 1997, Edwin re-established his business with Sandiaga Uno. Both founded Saratoga Capital, a financial company that focuses on investing. That's where Edwin managed to develop the company.

The development of Saratoga at that time was quite rapid. Not only in the financial sector, on his way Edwin expanded his business in various fields such as mining, transportation, oil and gas, and many others. Saratoga's company later changed its name to Saratoga Investama Sedaya Tbk. Currently the company is known as one of the largest investment firms in Indonesia.

Edwin is also known to occupy important positions in various companies. For example, he sat on the chair of President Commissioner at PT Adaro Energy Tbk., PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure Tbk., PT Mitra Pinasthika Mustika Tbk., and many more.

On the international stage, Edwin's name was included in the list of 50 Richest People in Indonesia in 2024 according to Forbes' business magazine. It was stated that Edwin's wealth was worth 1.6 billion US dollars or around Rp. 24.8 trillion.
