Project Converts Waste To Electricity Needs IDR 3 Trillion Investment

JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) is known to be working on a waste to energy project or utilizing waste into electrical power. To run the program, Danantara will build Waste Processing into Electric Energy (PSEL) with a capacity of 1,000 tons of waste per day.

Managing Director of Investment Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja explained, to carry out this project requires a budget of IDR 2 trillion to IDR 3 trillion per PSEL.

"1000 tons, 2-3 trillion investments, so I think it was also with that big investment," he said, Tuesday, September 30.

He added that later cities interested in managing waste would be proposed and divewed by the Ministry of Environment (KLH).

Stefanus ensured that Danantara would invite partners to participate in financing this WTE project. Later, Danantara will also play a role in choosing the right partners and technology for investment in the renewable energy sector.

"We can invite partners and that's the goal. As explained, partner technology, maybe private partners too. Or from the local government, we are collaborative in nature," he continued.

He said, so far Danantara has seen a number of technologies used by all of the two during visits abroad.

"Because we know that in many countries, this waste problem can be overcome with one of the most used technologies is waste-to-energy technology, so it is burned," said Stefanus.
