Badanas Targets CJP Stock At The End Of The Year To Reach At Least 60,000 Tons

JAKARTA The National Food Agency (Bapanas) targets the Government Corn Reserve (CJP) stock at the end of 2025 to reach at least 60,000 tons.

The target is to maintain the availability of national corn while securing prices at the farm level so as not to fall below Rp5,500 per kilogram (kg).

The target is in accordance with the Decree of the Head of the National Food Agency Number 40 of 2025 concerning Amendments to the Decree of the Head of the National Food Agency Number 591 of 2024 concerning Number, Quality Standards, and Purchase Prices of Governments in the Context of Implementing Government Food Reserves in 2025.

Initially, the Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi said that the provisions for the Government Purchase Price (HPP) for corn commodities were regulated in the Decree of the Head of the National Food Agency (Kepbadan) Number 216 of 2025 which took effect from July.

This policy is a follow-up to Presidential Instruction Number 10 of 2025 concerning Domestic Corn Procurement and Management as well as the Distribution of Government Corn Reserves (CJP).

Arief said that the dry flat corn cellphone at the farmer level was IDR 5,500 per kg applied to Perum Bulog with a water content of 18 to 20 percent. Meanwhile, the HPP is IDR 6,400 per kg for dry flat corn in Bulog's warehouse with a maximum water level of 14 percent and aflatoxin with a maximum of 50 parts per billion (ppb).

"This HPP policy is a price buffer for domestic farmers," he said in an official statement, Sunday, September 28.

Regarding the absorption of corn by Bulog, continued Arief, the realization reached 76,900 tons until September 26, 2025. Meanwhile, the corn stock stored by Bulog was a total of 72,000 tons.

Most recently, said Arief, Bapanqs also assigned Bulog to distribute the corn Supply and Food Price Stabilization (SPHP) program with a target of 52,400 tons to 2,019 breeders at a price of Rp5,500 per kg.

The corn SPHP program for farmers has balanced the flow of corn stock in Bulog during the absorption of domestic production throughout 2025. The target of corn stock by the end of 2025 is at least 60,000 tons," he said.

Arief said the movement of corn prices at the farmer level began to move closer to the HPP of IDR 5,500 per kg around the beginning until mid-August. As of September 27, in the NFA Food Price Panel, the average price of farmers' corn was at IDR 5,553 per kg or 0.96 percent above the HPP.

"I think our homework is finished, Mr. Minister of Agriculture (Amran Sulaiman). We have kept the price of corn farmers at least IDR 5,500 per kilogram," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan alluded to President Prabowo's vision regarding Indonesia to become a world food barn. He said this was a teamwork.

" Brothers and sisters, this is teamwork. If all teamwork is like this, then the speech of the President at the United Nations (United Nations), we will become a food barn, in the near future we can achieve (to become) a world food barn," he said.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas said the government had started to develop it to become a world food barn, by clearing new land in Wanam, in South Sumatra, in Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and so on.

"Our TNI too, thank you very much. (If) the new rice fields, (it's) the TNI that helps. (If) corn, Polri are helping. All parties are extraordinary, that's Indonesia," he said.

Berkaitan dengan produksi jagung nasional, mengacu pada Proyeksi Neraca Jagung Tahun 2025 yang diolah NFA dengan referensi data dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) dan Kementerian Pertanian, panen raya jagung pipilan kering kadar air 14 persen (JPK 14 persen) sudah terjadi di Februari dengan raihan 1,86 juta ton. Sementara, target produksi JPK 14 persen untuk 2025 ini diestimasikan 16,68 juta ton.

Apabila tercapai, maka raihan produksi JPK 14 persen sepanjang 2025 akan melampaui tahun sebelumnya.

Adapun total produksi JPK 14 persen di 2024 mencapai 15,14 juta ton dengan rata-rata sebanyak 1,26 juta ton per bulan.

Produksi 2024 itu pun lebih tinggi dibandingkan tahun 2023 di mana produksi mencapai 14,77 juta ton dan rata-rata sebanyak 1,23 juta ton per bulan.

Regarding national corn production, referring to the 2025 Corn Balance Projection processed by NFA with data references from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, the dry flat corn harvest of 14 percent (JPK 14 percent) has occurred in February with 1.86 million tons. Meanwhile, the JPK production target of 14 percent for 2025 is estimated at 16.68 million tons.

If achieved, the JPK production achievement of 14 percent throughout 2025 will exceed the previous year.

The total production of JPK 14 percent in 2024 reached 15.14 million tons with an average of 1.26 million tons per month.

Production in 2024 is also higher than in 2023 where production reached 14.77 million tons and an average of 1.23 million tons per month.
