Overcoming Congestion, Jasa Marga Opens Partial Five Main Toll Gates In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The long traffic jam that hit a number of major roads in Jakarta on Wednesday night, September 24, 2025, finally received a quick response from PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR).

Starting Thursday, September 25, since 08.30 WIB, the Kuningan 1 Toll Gate (GT) and the Semanggi 1 GT have been partially opened again and vehicles can be crossed.

Senior Manager Representative Office 2 Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Ginanjar Bekti explained that the decision was taken to unravel the congestion of traffic flow.

"As an anticipation of traffic density, since 08.30 WIB, GT Kuningan 1 and GT Semanggi 2 have returned to partial operations with 1 lane that can be crossed," said Ginanjar in a written statement, Thursday, September 25.

In addition to the two toll gates, Ginanjar said, there are three other GTs that are also operated partially today. Among others, GT Senayan, partial operating with 2 lanes can be crossed, GT Semanggi 1, operating partially with 1 lane can be crossed and GT Slipi 1 fully operational.

To maintain the capacity of transactions at GT to operate partially, optimally, additional tapping assistance officers are carried out at toll gates and the use of Mobile Reader.

Road users are also advised to anticipate congestion on the Cawang 'Pluit Toll Road and take advantage of other alternative routes to the destination location, such as through the JORR 2 toll road network which is connected to various other toll road accesses.

"We apologize for the impact of traffic congestion which since yesterday has been uncomfortable for road users," he concluded.

Previously, Jasa Marga officially temporarily closed several Toll Gates (GT) in Jakarta which were burned by the masses during a demonstration at the end of August 2025. This step was taken because at that location there would be an acceleration of improvement.

Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Widiyatmiko Nursejati said that six toll gates were closed for acceleration of repairs.

The times are varied, adapted to the need for improvement. However, generally closures and work are carried out for 24 hours.

"We have accelerated this repair so that the affected toll gates can immediately function optimally again. Even though there is a closure, we have prepared transaction engineering so that road users can still travel comfortably," said Widiyatmiko in his official statement, quoted Wednesday, September 24.

GT Slipi 1, GT Slipi 2 and GT Pejompongan, starting September 24, 2025 at 00.00 WIB until September 25, 2025 at 24.00 WIB.

GT Semanggi 1 and GT Kuningan 1, starting September 24, 2025 at 00.00 WIB to September 24, 2025 at 24.00 WIB.

GT Semanggi 2, starting September 25, 2025 at 00.00 WIB to September 25, 2025 at 24.00 WIB.
