The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Denies The Issue Of Bahlil Prohibition Of Ojol Using Pertalite

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has denied the issue of banning the use of Pertalite type fuel for online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol).

Just so you know, this issue has resurfaced and is widely reported on Instagram social media.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through Spokesperson Dwi Anggia emphasized that information on social media regarding the prohibition of using Pertalite type fuel for online motorcycle taxi drivers is not true.

"Until now, there has been no policy regarding the regulation of the use of Pertalite type fuel for online motorcycle taxi drivers or ojol," he said in an upload on the Instagram account @dwi_anggia quoted Wednesday, September 24.

Dwi said that the government actually understands public concerns, especially for micro-enterprises such as ojol drivers.

According to him, every policy option taken by the government always considers and prioritizes the aspects of welfare and partiality to vulnerable groups and protects the interests of online motorcycle taxi drivers.

"Once again, we emphasize that the information circulating is not true and we invite the public to be wiser in consuming information, especially those circulating on social media," he continued.

Anggia juga mengimbau agar seluruh informasi terkait BBM hanya merujuk pada sumber resmi Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral atau KESDM agar tidak menimbulkan kesalahpahaman di tengah masyarakat.

Untuk informasi, isu ini sempat ramai pada akhir tahun 2024 yang lalu. Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia kemudian menegaskan pengemudi ojek online (ojol) bakal tetap mendapatkan subsidi bahan bakar minyak (BBM), dengan menggunakan skema usaha mikro kecil dan menengah (UMKM).

"Ojol itu akan masuk dalam kategori UMKM," kata Bahlil, Rabu 4 Desember.

Anggia also appealed to all information related to fuel to only refer to the official sources of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources or KESDM so as not to cause misunderstandings in the community.

For information, this issue was busy at the end of 2024. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia then emphasized that online motorcycle taxi drivers (ojol) would still receive fuel oil subsidies (BBM), using a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) scheme.

"The Ojol will be included in the MSME category," said Bahlil, Wednesday, December 4.
