Target Exploration Of 46 Wells In 2025, SKK Migas Records New Drill 18 Wells

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) reported that there were only 18 exploration well drilling activities until August 2025. In fact, SKK Migas targets to drill 46 exploration wells throughout 2025.

"For drilling, exploration in 2024 25 wells, the target is 2025 46 wells, the realization is currently 18 wells," said Head of SKK Mig, Djoko Siswanto, quoted on Wednesday, September 24.

Based on the outlook, Djoko continued, SKK Migas estimates that it will drill 43 wells or 93.5 percent of the 2025 target.

From these exploration activities, Djoko said there were 20 structures that had received exploration status (PSE) approval with the discovery of a resource of 999 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) for oil and gas until August 2025.

He estimates that the discovery until December will reach 1,154 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE).

From that meeting, Djoko said that there are 4 structures that will enter the put on production (POP) stage with a reserve of 63 million barrels of oil and 19.8 BCF gas.

"The estimated contribution is around 800 barrels of oil per day. With details, in the Padang Pancuran field there are 400 barrels of oil per day, that's an estimate on the stream of quarter 4 from 2025," explained Djoko.

He continued, from the West Kalabau field with an estimate of 100 BOPD which is estimated to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, Chen 2 DIP with an estimated 200 BOPD which is estimated to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2025 and Sangaha 2 with an estimated 100 BOPD which is estimated to be onstream in the fourth quarter of 2025.

"This can increase production, which we hope can reach 605,000 barrels per day," he explained.

Meanwhile, four other structures are still in the evaluation stage for POP with a potential reserve of 15 million MMBO and 233 BCFG, including EPN, Duyung, Northwest Wilela, and SAS-2 Fields.
