Disentil Purbaya Regarding Budget Absorption Is Still Low, BGN Boss Responds Like This

JAKARTA - The budget absorption of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is considered low and has received the spotlight from the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadives.

Purbaya conveyed this during a working meeting (Raker) with Commission XI of the DPR RI in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

"On the government side, I will make sure the slow shopping goes even better. There are complaints, MBG has low absorption. I asked my financial friends, how is the monitoring? He just said it was good, but it wasn't. Bad," he said.

Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana also opened his voice. He said the absorption of the budget was identical to the number of MBG beneficiaries.

He did not deny the challenge of budget absorption in the initial implementation of the MBG project, mainly related to the construction of a kitchen for the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) aka the MBG kitchen.

"The budget absorption machine in the Nutrition Agency is the number of SPPGs. One SPPG stands in one day, then Rp1 billion will be absorbed. Why were we slow at the beginning? Because, right, many people are not sure this program will run," Dadan told reporters at his office, Thursday, September 18.

He explained, in January 2025, the number of SPPGs that were established was only 190 units.

As a result, the budget absorbed was only IDR 190 billion during the first month of MBG running.

Over time, Dadan revealed, 8,344 SPPGs have been built so far or equivalent to budget absorption of IDR 8.3 trillion.

He also targets MBG kitchens to operate to penetrate 10,000 units by the end of September 2025, so that budget absorption of at least IDR 10 trillion per month can run from the following month.

"We are targeting that in October (2025) there will be around 20,000 SPPGs, so that by November it will already be Rp20 trillion itself (the total absorption of the MBG budget). So, the absorption at the end will be very large, not made up, but because the SPPG increases," he explained.

The realization of the MBG program budget has only reached IDR 13.2 trillion as of September 8, 2025.

That amount is equivalent to 18.6 percent of the total ceiling of IDR 71 trillion this year.
