JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) signed a Joint Decree (SKB) with the Ministry of Public Works (PU) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for the construction of a nutrition service fulfillment unit (SPPG) or a MBG kitchen at 806 points. Later, the SPPG will be spread across 38 provinces of Indonesia.
The construction that will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works as many as 264 SPPGs and BGN will build 506 SPPGs.
"Alhamdulillah, I have received a commitment from the Ministry of Public Works, that in Public Works there are also funds that can be used to accelerate (the construction of the SPPG), so that later for remote areas I think there will be APBN funds," said Head of BGN Dadan Hindayana at the signing of the Joint Decree (SKB) at the BGN office, Jakarta, Thursday, September 18.
However, Dadan did not clearly explain how much the budget needed to build 806 MBG kitchens. It's just that, he said, the cost of development is estimated to reach around Rp. 2-3 billion per unit.
According to Dadan, BGN still has a budget of IDR 6 trillion. The funds will be used to build 1,542 SPPG, but the development with the budget is not yet running.
Later, development by the Ministry of Public Works will be focused on remote, lagging behind and leading areas (3T), while the construction of SPPG in agglomeration areas will rely on partnerships. BGN noted that there were already several partners who were willing.
"Starting from the TNI, Polri, Kadin, Muhammadiyah, NU and all parties really care about this program. The funds issued by them are used for the construction of SPPG. And later when it is finished, then partner and given incentives by the Nutrition Agency," he said.

He assessed that currently the number of SPPGs in the agglomeration area has reached 29,000 from the target of 25,000. Even so, said Dadan, not all of the SPPGs have been verified.
"The step we are taking now is how to speed up the qualifying process. Thank God, every day on average we can verify between 100 and 150 SPPGs, so that the SPPG numbers increase every day," he said.
Meanwhile, PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said that currently his party has built three prototypes for the MBG kitchen. The three prototypes were built by state-owned infrastructure some time ago.
"As a first step, three pilot units have been built in Jambi, Banjarnegara and Kebumen. Each with different types of constructions," he explained.
