JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI has succeeded in optimizing the use of population data integration with the Directorate General of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil).
BRI Director of Operations Hakim Putrantama said this innovation was one of BRI's important breakthroughs in encouraging operational efficiency, accelerating the service process, and strengthening customer confidence.
Through strategic cooperation with Dukcapil, BRI is able to maximize the verification process and manage risks, so that the disbursement of micro credit can reach IDR 1 trillion per day. This extensive and accurate data access allows us to provide services that are much faster, more efficient, and safe for customers," explained Hakim, Tuesday, September 16.
As a bank with the largest customer base in the country, he continued, every day BRI conducts around 500 thousand access to Dukcapil to process customer data and prospective customers.
Prior to data integration, the customer verification process took hours and affected the quality of the service. Now, with systems directly connected to the national population database, the process becomes faster, more accurate, and efficient.
If this access does not exist, it is impossible for BRI to disburse microcredit worth IDR 1 trillion per day. The impact is not only for BRI, but also for government programs that we run, including the distribution of Social Assistance and KUR," added Hakim.
The judge added, in the digital era, data became a strategic asset. The judge emphasized that future winners are superior parties in information technology and data mastery. The concept of single identity based on Population Identification Number (NIK) is the foundation of BRI in providing modern banking services. This integration allows BRI to verify data in real time, increase the accuracy of credit risk assessment, and provide services that are more personal according to customer needs.

In addition, BRI is committed to maintaining customer data security and confidentiality in every process.
"We always ensure that the use of data is carried out with the principles of prudence and protection of customer privacy. Synergy with regulators is the key to providing a safe, inclusive, and sustainable digital banking service ecosystem," concluded Hakim.
