Pertamina Drilling Rig Production 2,045 BOPD And 5.2 MMSCFD Gas At Benuang Field

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Drilling Services Indonesia (Pertamina Drilling) noted an important achievement through the success of Rig PDSI #41.3/N110UE which completed the drilling of Sumur Benuang (BNG)-D16 into a BNG-069 development well owned by PT Pertamina EP Asset 2 (PHR Zone 4).

Pertamina Drilling President Director, Avep Disasmita explained, in September 2025, the test for the production of the well showed temporary results reaching 2,045 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and gas of 5.2 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).

Interestingly, the oil and gas flowed naturally through the open flow opening of the TAF-N2 layer which is thought to indicate the potential for new reservoirs outside the existing layer.

This achievement adds to our optimism for the sustainability of national energy production. With the support of Pertamina Drilling's technology and resources, we hope that this new potential reservoir can contribute significantly to the national oil and gas production target," said Avep, Monday, September 8.

Furthermore, Avep said that the BNG-069 well was the first of the five wells planned in a series of batch drilling in the Benuang Structure, Adera Field, which is located in northeastern Prabumulih, South Sumatra.

Drilling is carried out in a directional directional drilling using the PDSI Rig #41.3/N110UE to a final depth of 2,460 meters (MD) or 2,323.2 meters (TVD). The entire process, including production tests, was completed within 38 days.

Batch drilling itself is the concept of drilling several wells in one area of a cellar foundation by utilizing rig walking capabilities. This method allows efficiency because it only takes one rig up and rig down activities for the entire well range.

The selection of the batch drilling method is a form of PT Pertamina EP Asset 2's commitment to carry out cost efficiency, while ensuring that the economics of wells in Benuang's structure can continue to be improved.

The success of the BNG-069 well strengthens Pertamina Drilling and PT Pertamina EP's efforts to support national energy security, in line with government directives to optimize domestic oil and gas potential.

"The findings of indications of new reservoirs in the TAF-N2 layer are also an important momentum that provides further exploration opportunities in the Benuang working area," he said.
