52,400 Tons Of SPHP Corn Prepared By The Government For Farmers, Price Of IDR 5,500 Per Kg

JAKARTA - The government will distribute cheap corn through the Food Supply Stabilization and Price Program (SPHP) with a total of 52,400 tons this year.

Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi revealed that the SPHP corn is intended for layer breeders for IDR 5,500 per kilogram (kg).

"The SPHP will be prepared for layer breeders. The total amount is 52,400 tons of corn throughout Indonesia will be released, the price is IDR 5,500 for farmers," he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs Office, Jakarta, Monday, September 1.

For your information, based on the Bakanas Price Panel, the price of corn at the farmer level was recorded at IDR 6,628 per kg. This price is higher than the reference purchase price (HAP) at the consumer level which is IDR 5,800 per kg.

Arief said the decision to distribute corn for layer breeders was an agreement in a limited coordination meeting (Rakortas) chaired by the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan.

Lebih lanjut, Arief mengatakan, harga Rp5.500 per kg yang ditetapkan tersebut telah disubsidi oleh pemerintah.

Dia bilang, diharapkan penggelontoran jagung SPHP ini dapat membantu peternak meningkatkan produksinya.

“Jadi, bisa bantu peternak kita produksi telur dengan harga yang bagus sampai dengan akhir tahun ini,” ucapnya.

Furthermore, Arief said, the price of Rp5,500 per kg set has been subsidized by the government.

He said, it is hoped that the disbursement of SPHP corn can help farmers increase their production.

"So, we can help our farmers produce eggs at a good price until the end of this year," he said.
