JAKARTA - Kuningan LRT Station in the Greater Jakarta area will reportedly soon have a new name. Visa, a US financial company, has purchased the naming rights for the station.

Executive Vice President of LRT Jabodebek, Mochamad Purnomosidi, stated that an agreement has been reached with Visa regarding the naming rights for the station.

"God willing, it will be Kuningan Station, Visa. Because they have already made an agreement with us that Visa will request Kuningan," Purnomosidi said at the "Two Years of Operation" event for LRT Jabodebek in Jakarta, published on Friday, August 29.

Purnomosidi stated that LRT Jabodebek offered Visa the naming rights for the station for IDR 7 billion per year. The current contract with Visa is for three years. This means the total cost of naming the station is IDR 21 billion.

"As far as I remember, the price is around IDR 7 billion per year, and the contract we signed is for three years. This means the IDR 7 billion is valid for one year, but the contract is valid for three years," said Purnomosidi.

According to Purnomosidi, the planned name change for the Kuningan Jabodebek LRT Station will be implemented in October or November 2025.

"Our estimate, based on the timeline we've developed with them, is that it will begin in October or November," he said.

In addition to naming rights for the station, Purnomosidi said his company is also collaborating with Visa on payment methods. In the future, Jabodebek LRT users will be able to purchase or pay for tickets with Visa credit cards.

"So that includes the use of credit cards or IMVs. Then, naming rights will also be granted at Kuningan Station," he said.
