JAKARTA - Taiwan Tourism Administration officially opened the Taiwan Travel Fair 2025 with the new slogan 'Taiwan, Waves of Wonder'.
This event became Taiwan's strategic step in targeting the Indonesian tourist market, especially from among the younger generation.
With a large number of young people, high mobility, and increasing travel trends abroad, Indonesia is seen as one of the most potential markets in Southeast Asia.
Deputy Representative Taipei Economic and Trade Office (Teto) in Indonesia, Trust Lin emphasized the importance of this potential.
Indonesia has a very large number of young people, with a tendency to travel and explore abroad. They are the main drivers of the future tourism market. Taiwan is committed to providing experiences that suit their lifestyle," he said at the opening of the Taiwan Travel Fair 2025.
In line with the needs of the Indonesian market, Taiwan also continues to strengthen its position as one of the three best Muslim-friendly destinations in the world.
Various worship facilities available at tourist sites, restaurants and hotels with halal certification are increasingly being expanded, as well as Indonesian-language tourism guidelines prepared to provide comfort.
"For young tourists from Indonesia, security, comfort, and access to halal services are priorities. Taiwan strives to ensure they can travel calmly as well as enjoy the diversity of culture, culinary, and nature of Taiwan," said Trust Lin.
Responding to the tourist needs of the younger generation who are attached to social media, Taiwan highlights its destinations with strong visual attraction.
In addition, every season in Taiwan has a different tourism charm that is ready to be explored.
Taiwan Tourism Information Center (TTIC) director Abe Chou explained that young Indonesian tourists tend to look for authentic new experiences.
"Therefore, we present a variety of travel packages so that they can explore more widely," he said.
One of the new attractions introduced was the Haifeng Luxury Train, which was launched in early 2025 by Taiwan Railways.
The train offers a unique holiday experience along Taiwan's northeastern coast, complete with Michelin Star certified dishes.
"We want tourists from Indonesia and abroad to experience an unforgettable holiday experience," Abe said.
