JAKARTA - PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk (WIKA) conveyed the latest progress of the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (JSDP) giant waste processing system project.

Currently, the construction of Zone 1 Package 1, namely the Wastewater Processing Installation (IPAL) area in Pluit has reached 33 percent.

The project is the government's step in presenting a more integrated and environmentally friendly domestic waste management system in the capital city.

The project is targeted to be completed in 2027.

The IPAL area work was carried out by a joint venture company Obayashi-Wijaya Karya-Jaya Konstruksi-JFE Engineering Joint Venture, namely OWJJ Joint Venture (JV).

The land area for Zone 1 Package 1 reaches 3.9 hectares.

"Through JSDP, WIKA plays a role in presenting modern sanitation infrastructure that supports improving the quality of life of the community," he added.

To note, Zone 1 itself consists of 6 work packages.

Packages 1 to 4 are under the Ministry of Public Works (PU) which is supported by APBN loan funding from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Meanwhile, packages 4 to 6 are the scope of the Jakarta Provincial Government's work with APBD funds.

The construction of the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project (Zone 1) is a National Strategic Project (PSN) stipulated in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 109 of 2020.
