JAKARTA - The Red and White Fisherman's Village Program (KNMP) which will be carried out by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) gets a budget of IDR 5.5 trillion in the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Plan (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year (TA) 2026.
Referring to Book II of the Financial Note along with the 2026 RAPBN, the budget allocation will be used to build 250 KNMP in 2026 from the target of 100 KNMP this year.
"In the RAPBN for the 2026 fiscal year, the KNMP development budget is planned at IDR 5.5 trillion," the document wrote as quoted on Wednesday, August 20.
Based on the explanation in the document, until now the government is reviewing the location of the construction to ensure the accuracy of the program's targets.
The plan is for development locations to be spread in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT); West Nusa Tenggara (NTB); Central Java; West Java; Banten; Southeast Sulawesi; Aceh; and the Riau Islands (Kepri).
The KNMP program is a strategic initiative to develop coastal areas and cultivation villages into the center of productive, sustainable and competitive marine economic activities.
It is known, the program aims to increase productivity and income of fishermen and fish cultivators, transform coastal communities' living spaces more feasible and well-organized, encourage local cooperative-based economic independence (Red Putih Village Cooperative/KDMP) and develop marine tourism potential and fishery resources in a sustainable manner.
The KNMP Program is designed with a community-based approach that integrates the entire value chain, from production, processing, distribution to marketing.
The interventions carried out by the government, namely providing various modern and strategic facilities, include a dock; ship decking; frozen building; ice factory; fish auction venue (TPI); fish market; production house; cultivation center; culinary center; viewing tower; drainage system; and Wastewater Processing Installation (IPAL); training center; as well as office buildings.
"The government targets the construction of 1,100 KNMP, covering fishing villages and cultivation villages in coastal areas and land waters nationally until 2027," the document explained.
Previously, the KKP targeted the construction of 100 KNMPs this year. The construction of the 100 KNMPs will be completed within four months.
