The Jumbo Budget Is IDR 335 Trillion, BGN Ensures Tightening SOPs To Prevent Toxic MBG

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) will manage a budget of IDR 335 trillion for the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) in 2026. However, this program is still experiencing a number of incidents, one of which is poisoning.

Asked about that, the Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, confirmed that he would continue to tighten supervision and improve standard operating procedures (SOP) to minimize the incident.

"We are trying our best to eliminate this case. And so far, something has happened at one SPPG, thank God it has never happened again," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 19.

"But so far from our records that have done it and then it never happened again. Because finally the SOP was repaired," continued Dadan.

According to Dadan, challenges arise as the number of SPPGs increases in various regions. He said, many new units are still in the adaptation stage, so the potential for technical errors could occur.

"So it was a thrilling thing for a Head of the Nutrition Agency when the SPPG increased. Because the SPPG increased, it meant that there was a risk when the newbie entered, then not too used to it, finally made technical mistakes and others," he said.

Previously, Dadan said that most of the Rp335 trillion funds would be used directly for intervention in providing nutritious food to vulnerable groups.

"For the Rp335 trillion fund next year, there will be more for nutritious eating interventions. Because for the intervention alone we will use approximately Rp1.2 trillion per day, or around Rp25 trillion per month. Because we have assumed the beneficiary covers 82.9 million," he said.

From that allocation, 85 percent will be used for the purchase of raw materials, of which 95 percent come from domestic agricultural products.

In addition to nutrition intervention, part of the budget is also intended for management support, including operations and strengthening the service digitization system. Dadan admits that the digitization of the MBG program is still lagging behind and will be the focus of improvement next year.
