JAKARTA - PT Diastika Biotepitindo Tbk (CHEK), a public company engaged in the distribution of medical devices and diagnostics, is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MIRXES Pte. Ltd., a subsidiary of MIRXES Holdings Limited.

Founded in 2014, MIRXES Holding Company Limited was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) and became the first biotechnology company from Southeast Asia to achieve unicorn status. MIRXES is a leader in miRNA technology by creating accurate, non-invasive, and affordable blood-based test kit products for cancer screening and other diseases.

MIRXES is also the first blood-based test pioneer in the world to be approved for early detection of stomach cancer.

This collaboration will present the first identification solution in Indonesia with the blood-based microRNA & multi-omics test method for early detection of cancer with high prevalence and mortality, such as stomach cancer, lungs, colorectal, liver, breasts, ovaries, pancreas, and prostates in Indonesia.

"Seeing the national health needs, CHEK collaborates with MIRXES to provide diagnostic solutions for cancer detection using a miRNA-based method that currently does not exist in Indonesia," said the President Director of CHEK, Yoshua, in a statement, Tuesday, August 19.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 2022: Indonesia recorded more than 350,000 new cancer cases per year. The mortality rate reached 70 percent, higher than the global average (60 percent).

Only about 15 percent of lung cancer patients were successfully diagnosed in the early stages. Yoshua said that this innovation is expected to be a pioneer in cancer screening based on the microRNA & multi-omics test method in Indonesia, which has been facing both limitations from the time it takes to get results and which can be accessed for the entire community.

With the presence of identification solutions with the latest blood-based microRNA & multi omics test method, the risk or the possibility of cancer can be detected even before entering stage 1. This is very crucial, considering that most early stage cancer patients do not show any symptoms at all.

"As a result of delays in diagnosis, many new patients are known to have cancer in advanced stages, when life expectancy is very limited," said Yoshua.

This MoU is expected to provide positive sentiment for investors and other professionals in the health sector who are expected to be integrated with the Government Program of the 2025-2029 RPJMN, especially strengthening the screening of non-communicable diseases. Contributive to the 2030 Healthy Indonesia program, in particular increasing the capacity of early detection of cancer nationally.

"CHEK believes that this innovation will accelerate public access to cancer screening which is more accurate and efficient, and supports the government's vision of reducing mortality through early detection of cancer by obtaining medical treatment early on," said Yoshua.

The target for the distribution of cancer tests is expected to increase the CHEK revenue for annual growth by up to 20 percent in the future. CHEK will continue to strengthen its position as a trusted provider of diagnostic medical devices, focusing on product innovation and expanding distribution to more regions throughout Indonesia.

CHEK remains committed to advancing access to rapid, accurate diagnostic solutions, and reaching nationally. with the strong and tweeted fundamentals of the CHEK business to provide sustainable results for all shareholders in the Biotegundo Diastika (CHEK) building long-term trust and opening the door for more investors to join the CHEK in transforming the medical device industry in Indonesia.
