The President Director of Pertagas, Indra P. Sembiring, emphasized that the company always plays an active role in the development of the national industry through the development of a gas distribution network to a number of special economic areas.

Pertagas actually manages and develops infrastructure to support Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in Indonesia, including SEZ Arun Lhokseumawe, Pertagas operates LNG Receiving and Regasification Terminal to meet the needs of the Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) power plant and industry in Lhokseumawe.

Furthermore, LNG which was regasified was channeled through the Arun-Belawan-KIM-KEK transmission pipeline for gas supply to PT PLN Belawan and the industrial sector in the Medan Industrial Estate (KIM) and the Sei Mengkei Special Economic Zone (KEK).
In addition, Pertagas is also the backbone of gas supply for the national fertilizer industry in South Sumatra (Pusri), West Java (Pupuk Kujang), East Java (Petrochemical Gresik/PKG), and Kalimantan (Pupuk Kaltim/KT).
On the island of Java, Pertagas carries out the operational management of the Cirebon-Semarang Gas Pipe (Cisem) owned by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), which plays a vital role in distributing gas to the Batang Integrated Industrial Zone (KITB) and the Kendal Industrial Estate (KIK).
Based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the projected industrial potential that can use gas from the Cisem-1 Pipeline operated by Pertagas in Kendal and Batang is around 40 industries.
"The availability of reliable gas infrastructure is the key to accelerating the stretch of the national industry by distributing natural gas supplies to various industrial areas and strategic sectors," added Indra.
