JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur continues to strive to expand the penetration of Indonesia's automotive and creative industries to the Malaysian market.
One of the steps taken was to provide support at the International Automodified (IAM) car modification exhibition which took place at the Setia Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, Saturday.
"This IAM exhibition was originally named Indonesian Automodified. But in Malaysia it is called International Automodified. This is a series of automotive events in Asia. Previously there was also a large Art Of Speed," said the Coordinator for Economic Affairs of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur Hendra P Iskandar in Selangor, Malaysia, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, August 16.
Hendra said that the modification exhibition event could be the entry point for Indonesia's automotive and creative industry in the Malaysian market.
"At the past, transactions that occurred in Malaysia a day could be Rp800-900 million per day. So this needs to be encouraged to increase exports, increase the Indonesian market abroad, especially Malaysia," he said.
He said that on this occasion, the Indonesian Embassy encouraged Pertamina Lubricants as a producer of vehicle lubricants and Indogrocer as a wholesale seller of Indonesian original products to participate in the exhibition.
According to Hendra, so far products from Indonesia, both automotive products and the creative industry, are acceptable in Malaysia.
"So far for Indonesian products, actually the Malaysian people already believe, we just need to improve and make sure," he said.
Sales and Marketing Overseas Pertamina Lubricants Rastra Atika Absharina said that his party was very happy to be participating in the IAM large-scale car modification event in Malaysia.
He conveyed that Pertamina Lubricants is the original lubricant by the nation's children.
"We have the Pertamina Fastron brand for cars and the Enduro oil for motorcycles. The two products are our flagship, as well as other sub brands," said Atika.

According to Atika, during the last 10 years, Pertamina Lubricants' children's products have been well received at the Malaysian automotive market at competitive prices.
"We are developing a market. Now we are present in 17 countries in Asia, Africa, Australia. And in Thailand, we already have factories there," he said.
Meanwhile, Indogrocer Marketing Deri Baihaqi said that his party as a wholesale product provider from Indonesia thanked the Indonesian Embassy for the opportunity to participate in major automotive events in Malaysia.
Indogrocer hopes to continue to be involved together with the Indonesian Embassy in supporting the Indonesian economy, especially through the sale of Indonesian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia.
Project Manager International Automodified (IAM) Husna said that his party is happy to be able to support the development of local product markets in the international arena.
So far, IAM, which was formed in Indonesia in 2001, has regularly held car modification exhibitions in various countries.
"The real target is IAM, like it or not only in Southeast Asia. We tried it in the United States last year. We hope to enter Dubai, Japan, where the target market is strong," said Husna.
