Prabowo Wants To Remove SOE Tantiem, Deputy Minister Sudaryono: Agree, No Need To Exist

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) as well as President Commissioner of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) Sudaryono opened his voice regarding President Prabowo Subianto's plan to remove bonuses for directors and commissioners of SOEs.

For your information, Sudaryono himself was appointed as President Commissioner of PT Pupuk Indonesia in mid-June 2025.

Sudaryono said his party agreed with Prabowo. According to him, the provision of tantiem is actually not necessary.

"Agree, agree, tantiem is not necessary, we are dedicated," he said when met at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

He said that if the commissioners and directors of SOEs objected to the plan to remove tantiem, they could resign.

"If you don't want to, then stop," he said.

Sudaryono also admitted that he did not mind Prabowo's plan. He said he served as the main commissioner at PT Pupuk Indonesia as part of his service.

"There is no (weight). We serve, if you want to be rich, you don't have to be an official, we are rich as entrepreneurs," he said.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he would not give bonuses to the directors or commissioners of SOEs whose companies were at a loss. He said if the directors and commissioners objected to the policy, they could immediately resign.

Furthermore, Prabowo said that there are still many young people who are considered capable of replacing this position.

"So directors and commissioners, if they object, are not willing to accept Tantiem, stop. Many young people are able to replace them," he said in delivering the 2026 RAPBN and Financial Notes, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

He said the benefits that became the basis for providing tantiem must be really real, not engineered results. Therefore, companies that are losing money do not need to provide bonuses for directors or commissioners.

"I have also ordered the Danantara, the board of directors does not need to tantiem if they lose. And fortunately, we have to make a real profit, don't make sense," he said.

Prabowo mengatakan ada komisaris yang hanya rapat sebulan sekali, namun menerima tantiem hingga Rp40 miliar per tahun.

Karena itu, dia pun meminta agar pemberian tantiem dicabut.

“Saya hilangkan tantiem. Saya pun tidak mengerti arti tantiem itu. Itu akal-akalan mereka saja. Dia memilih istilah asing supaya kita tidak mengerti apa itu tantiem,” ujarnya.

Prabowo said there were commissioners who only had meetings once a month, but received tantiem of up to Rp40 billion per year.

Therefore, he also requested that the tantiem be revoked.
