Alluding To The Red And White Kopdes At The Annual Session, Muzani: A Tool Of Economic Struggle

Chairman of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani alluded to the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) program in his remarks at the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2025 DPR-DPD RI Joint Session.

He said the program was the government's effort to build a modern economy and also sided with the small people.

The Red and White Cooperative is a tool for the people's economic struggle to become economically strong. This strategic movement aims to build a modern village economic ecosystem and side with the small people," he said at the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2025 DPR-DPD RI Joint Session, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially launched 80,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes). The inauguration ceremony was centered in Bentangan Village, Wonosari, Klaten Regency, Central Java.

"By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, Monday, July 21, 2025, I am the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto launching 80,000 village and sub-district cooperatives," Prabowo said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

During the launch, the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs (Menko Pangan) as well as the Head of the Red and White Cooperative Task Force Zulkifli Hasan reported to President Prabowo Subianto that 80,081 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) had been formed.

The man who is familiarly called Zulhas explained that out of this total, 108 units of the Red and White Kopdes are ready to operate starting today.

"Alhamdulillah, Mr. President, in less than two months, more than 80,081 white Red and White Kopdes/kelurahan have been formed legally. And 108 of them are ready to operate," he said when delivering the report on the inauguration of the Red and White Kopdes, quoted from the Ministry of Food's YouTube, Monday, July 21.

Zulhas said the existence of the Red Puruh Kopdes was President Prabowo Subianto's mandate regarding food self-sufficiency. At the same time to eradicate tengkulak to moneylenders.

"To cut the supply chain, tengkulak, empowerment of farmers, village economic actors with the principle of mutual cooperation," he said.
