Show Significant Progress, Semarang Toll Road Construction Has Been 49.34 Percent

JAKARTA - The construction of the Semarang 'Demak Toll Road shows significant progress, which until August 4, 2025 has reached 49.34 percent.

Meanwhile, the portion of work handled by PT Wijaya Karya Beton Tbk (WIKA Beton) has reached 65 percent to date.

The National Strategic Project (PSN) not only functions as a connecting toll road, but also as a giant sea embankment to overcome tidal waves and floods that continue to threaten the Pantura area of Central Java.

Then, the company's performance also attracted the attention of shareholders, namely PT Maybank Sekuritas Indonesia and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, who went directly to inspect the project location.

The visit confirmed the strong support of stakeholders for the project.

In the project, WIKA Beton served as a precast concrete product provider, from Tiang Pancang, PC-I Girder, PC-U Girder to A-Jack and ready mix.

Efficiency in supply chain and work structure is believed by the company to be the main key to project acceleration.

One of the most prominent innovations is the use of a layered bamboo mattress system to strengthen the ground.

The technique is applied to selective deposit areas up to 13 layers, making the elevation height now reach +5 meters above sea level with a total pile of almost 10 meters at several points.

"This step has proven to be effective in encouraging the completion of the construction stage ahead of the set schedule," WIKA Beton wrote as quoted Thursday, August 14.

The Semarang 'Demak' toll road project is funded through a foreign loan and state budget scheme.

Its dual function is very important for the region, namely to overcome congestion on the dense Pantura route as well as to act as a giant sea embankment that protects the Sayung, Demak areas, from tidal and flood threats.

It is known, the overall progress of the project has reached 49.34 percent until August 4, 2025, with the target of section 1 operations in April 2027.
