JAKARTA - PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX) has set a target of 1,200 registered issuers by 2029, and currently, the number of listed companies has reached 954 issuers.
IDX President Director Iman Rachman said that the issuer's listing target was part of an effort to encourage national economic growth by 8 percent.
According to him, the IDX will continue to prioritize the quality of companies listed on the stock exchange, focusing on large-capacity issuers or lighthouse companies.
"First, the increase in the number of listed companies. Yes, in our target from 943 in 2024, yes, although now it is 954. Yes, the target in 2029 is around 1200 (recorded on the IDX). This is also done of course taking into account the number of companies entering the lighthouse. So we are not talking only in numbers but also talking about quality," explained Iman at the 48 Years Press Conference Reactivated by the Capital Market, Monday, August 11.
So we are not only talking about the amount but also talking about the quality. If we talk about this, it's not just a number but in the context of calculating to reach, support the GDP 8 percent that our company's target in 2029 is 1200.
Currently, there are 16 new issuers recorded, consisting of 14 stock issuers and 2 issuers of Debt and/or Sukuk (EBUS), with total emission value reaching IDR 8.49 trillion.
Furthermore, Iman targets an increase in market liquidity from IDR 12.8 trillion to IDR 20 trillion in 2029.
In addition, he is also optimistic that with this liquidity level, market capitalization will be able to reach IDR 20,000 trillion in 2029 from the previous IDR 13,600 trillion.
"Of course the impact is the one in the middle. So I said earlier that we calculated the product but the important thing is that in terms of human resources, institutionally and AI will of course support how the Stock Exchange can achieve the target set by the government related to GDP 8 percent in 2029," he said.
Meanwhile, based on Single Investor Identification (SID) data as of August 8, 2025, the number of capital market investors consisting of stock investors, bonds, mutual funds, and other securities has increased by 2.7 million investors to 17.59 million investors.

Furthermore, retail investor participation is still quite significant during 2025, following the high participation of institutional investors.
Iman said this was also an indicator that investor confidence stability and interest in the Indonesian capital market were maintained amidst pressure and uncertainty in economic conditions globally and domestically.
"This achievement is also due to efforts from the IDX together with capital market stakeholders who have organized 21,513 educational activities related to investment in the Indonesian capital market until July 31, 2025," he said.
