Minister Nusron Admits There Is A Lot Of Land In The Sempadan River Area Has A Certificate: It Shouldn't Be Allowed

JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid admitted that currently many lands in the border area have certificates.

In fact, the river border area is a shared property or in this case it belongs to the state and should not be certified.

This was conveyed by Nusron in the Declaration of the 2025 Land Sector Boundary Installation Movement (Gemapatas) which was monitored online through the YouTube Ministry of ATR/BPN, Thursday, August 7.

"There are areas that can be certified, some cannot be certified. For example, river boundaries, this cannot be certified. This has a country called common property or shared property," said Nusron.

"Another example that cannot be certified is forest, beach," he continued.

According to Nusron, only private property can be certified.

"What can be certified is only private property or individual property, that's permissible," he said.

However, Nusron did not deny that currently many people sell and interpret land in the river border.

"So, if there are people selling soto baskets, pecel catfish baskets, what baskets are there, build stalls in the river border, that shouldn't be allowed," he said.

Bahkan, kata Nusron, Jawa Barat menjadi wilayah dengan jumlah penyertifikatan lahan di sempadan sungai terbanyak.

Akibatnya, lanjut dia, banyak daerah di Jawa Barat yang kebanjiran pada Maret 2025 lalu.

"Tapi, sekarang banyak sekali (tanah) yang disertifikatkan, terutama di Jawa Barat. Akhirnya, banyak yang banjir," pungkas dia.

In fact, said Nusron, West Java is the area with the highest number of land absorption in the river border.

As a result, he continued, many areas in West Java were flooded in March 2025.

"But now there are a lot of certified land, especially in West Java. In the end, many were flooded," he concluded.
