BPS Deputy for Balance and Statistics Analysis Moh Edy Mahmud said that the manufacturing sector was the largest contributor to economic growth in the second quarter of 2025.

"The expenditure component that contributes the largest to GDP is household consumption with a contribution of 54.25 percent, in the second quarter of 2025 this component grew quite strongly, which was 4.97 percent. This indicates that domestic demand is still strong," he said.
Meanwhile, the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) component also contributed greatly to GDP in the second quarter of 2025, which was 27.83 percent, with growth reaching 6.99 percent.
Edy explained, the combination of household consumption components and PMTB contributed a total of 82.08 percent of GDP in the second quarter of 2025.
High growth was also recorded in the export and import components, namely exports grew thanks to the increase in the value of non-oil and gas exports and visits to the number of foreign tourists.
