JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has asked three BUMN Karya to set aside their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds to build a Free Nutrition Food Kitchen (MBG) or also called the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

The construction of the SPPG is in accordance with the Joint Agreement Memorandum between the Ministry of Public Works and BGN No. 01/PKS/M/2025 and No. 16/NK.01/03/2025 dated March 22, 2025.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo explained that the construction of the SPPG does not only cover the main kitchen, but also supporting facilities, such as road access, clean water and sanitation networks and food distribution vehicles.

"This is important to ensure healthy and affordable nutrition services for school children," said Dody in his official statement, quoted on Tuesday, August 5.

In the early stages, the construction of three SPPG kitchens was carried out through the social and environmental responsibility program or CSR of three BUMN Karya.

The three SOEs, namely PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) and PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk.

The construction of the three SPPGs is spread across Jambi City, Banjar City (West Java) and Kebumen Regency (Central Java).

The cost of building a SPPG kitchen for 1 unit is estimated at IDR 4.5 billion. The construction includes a main kitchen; parking space; clean water network; Wastewater Processing Installation (IPAL); kitchen utensils; as well as food distribution vehicles.

Dody targets that the physical work of the three SPPG kitchens will be completed in September 2025.

"And it can soon be used to fully support the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food Program which is one of the government's priorities in improving the quality of Indonesian human resources from an early age," he said.

There are three different types of SPPG. PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk built a Type I SPPG kitchen that uses a steel modular framework.

Located in Putra II Kindergarten, Tanuharjo, Kebumen, Central Java, the project includes the construction of major buildings (structure, architecture, MEP); panel space; TPS; IPAL; drinking water network; as well as infrastructure and landscape.

This week, the team in the field is doing land clearing; supporting work (distribution and top DPT); construction of the main structure foundation; installation of panel spaces; IPAL tub; drinking water foundation; as well as plumbing work.

Then, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk works on Type II SPPG with a modular hollow framework structure.

The work done includes preparation; structure; architecture; infrastructure and landscape; furniture; as well as mechanical and electrical installations (MEP).

Meanwhile, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) is building a Type III SPPG with a constrained brick pair structure. The scope of work includes preparation; structural development; architecture; infrastructure and landscape; as well as furniture, signage and MEP.

The three SPPGs will be a model for the construction of replicated SPPG kitchens in various regions of Indonesia.

Currently, nine locations for the Men's Education Foundation are also focused on nine schools spread across Aceh; Jambi; West Sumatra; Central Java; West Java; South Kalimantan; North Sulawesi; Southeast Sulawesi; and South Sulawesi.
