JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan), Andi Amran Sulaiman, reported directly to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the development of rice fields printing programs and national food stock conditions.
During the meeting which took place at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, he ensured that the strategic rice fields printing program went according to plan, Wednesday, July 30.
"First we discussed, he asked the progress of printed rice fields. I told him that everything was going well, starting from South Papua, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, South Sumatra. God willing, hopefully it can be completed on time," Amran said, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube channel.
According to Amran, printing rice fields is an important step to strengthen national food security, as well as support the self-sufficiency agenda which is a priority for President Prabowo's government.
In addition, the Minister of Agriculture also said that the current condition of national food production and stock is safe. Massive market operations have been held to stabilize food prices, especially rice.
"The production development is safe, our stock is also safe. We have carried out large-scale market operations," Amran continued.
To maintain rice availability and reduce prices in the market, the government has prepared rice reserves through two schemes, namely the 1.3 million tons Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program, as well as 360,000 tons of social assistance reserves (bansos). "The total is 1.5 million tons. Our (national) stock is 4.2 million tons. So everything is safe," said Amran.

"Later, my maghrib will run out here (Istana) again, have another meeting. I think it's around that (oplosan rice)," he said.
In addition, he also mentioned the downward trend in premium rice prices which had previously been submitted in a limited coordination meeting (Rakortas) led by the Coordinating Minister for Food and attended by the Minister of Home Affairs.
"He conveyed that good news, the premium price (rice) has dropped. This is according to reports received from all over Indonesia that premium prices have dropped. Hopefully in the future, premium prices, medium, all rice prices will be in a good position," concluded Amran.
