JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita is optimistic that the national automotive industry will advance through the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.

He said the automotive exhibition was the second largest in the world after China.

Through the GIIAS 2025 exhibition, Agus emphasized that the automotive industry in Indonesia can be stronger and grow amid increasingly massive global pressures and competitiveness.

"Don't think that Indonesia is only used as a market for automotive producers," said Agus after the opening of GIIAS 2025 at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten, Thursday, July 24.

According to Agus, Gaikindo is a strategic partner of the government in the Indonesian automotive industry. He considered that Gaikindo not only accompanied the government when the automotive industry was victorious, but also contributed to finding a way out when there was an economic decline that hampered the growth of people's purchasing power in the automotive industry.

He also advised automotive entrepreneurs to keep their workers at a time when the economic situation was not doing well.

The former Minister of Social Affairs believes that in the near future the growth of people's purchasing power will also improve along with the growth of the Indonesian economy. "It is certain that the automotive industry will fly high," he said.

To note, the 32nd edition of the GIIAS 2025 Exhibition will be held from July 24 to August 3, which is the first day on 23 specifically for media day.

The international-scale annual celebration is a strategic stage for the launch of a number of new vehicle models, brand recognition and momentum to stimulate the national automotive market.

The implementation of GIIAS 2025 was enlivened by 43 automotive brands consisting of 39 passenger vehicle brands and 4 commercial vehicle brands. This has not been calculated from the participation of the caroseri brand and two-wheeled brand which also took part with a total of 63 brands.

The GIIAS 2025 exhibition presents many brands, so an expansion of the area is needed to accommodate aftermarket brands and accessories.

For GIIAS 2025 tickets, consisting of VIP Day GIIAS 2025 tickets (specifically on July 24) can be purchased online through the Auto360 web at a price of IDR 250,000. Meanwhile, for direct purchases in exhibition areas (onsite) at a price of IDR 300,000.
