PT Vale Pomalaa Officially Sells Nickel Ore After Pocketing RKAB

JAKARTA - Head of the Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources Office (ESDM) Andi Azis emphasized that PT Vale Indonesia in the Pomalaa Block, Kolaka Regency, officially sold ore ore or nickel after pocketing the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB).

Head of ESDM of Southeast Sulawesi Province Andi Azis said that the delivery of nickel ore by PT Vale Indonesia was based on the stipulated provisions, in accordance with RKAB RKAB from 2024 to 2025.

"Pemberian Ore Nickel yang dilaksanakan Vale sudah sesuai prosedur berdasarkan Nomor T2350/MB.04/DJB.M/2024 tergalgal 20 Desember 20 2024 mengenai Persetujuan Perubahan RKAB Kontrak Karya Operasi Produksi PT Vale Indonesia Tbk Tahun 2024 sd. Tahun 2025," kata Andi Azis dilansir ANTARA, Senin, 21 Juli.

He mentioned that in the RKAB, PT Vale received a quota of 200 thousand metric tons from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

However, his party continues to carry out surveillance in the field to ensure that the company follows existing procedures.

"Until now, the Provincial Energy and Mineral Resources has continued to monitor, so far PT Vale is still following the procedure," he said.

Meanwhile, PT Vale Indonesia's Head of Corporate Communication Vanda Kusumaningrum said that his company respects freedom of expression for the community and the role of the press.

This is a manifestation of people's sovereignty based on the principles of democracy, justice, and the rule of law, as long as it is carried out responsibly in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.

He explained that PT Vale as a foreign investment company that holds a Special Mining Business License (IUPK), has carried out all its operational activities in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations.

The company emphasized that all operations of PT Vale, including nickel ore (ore) marketing activities in the Pomalaa Block, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, had been legally implemented.

"PT Vale is also committed to carrying out every operational activity in a obedient, responsible and accountable manner in accordance with the provisions of the applicable laws and regulations, and is always open to constructive dialogue and clarification from all stakeholders," said Vanda.

Vanda mengungkapkan, komitmen PT Vale terhadap keberlanjutan melampaui aktivitas pertambangan, dengan fokus pada reklamasi area pertambangan, pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati, dan pengembangan komunitas.
