BI Reveals Business Activities Growing In Quarter II-2025

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) revealed that business activities experienced growth in the second quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter.

This is reflected in the results of the Business Activity Survey (SKDU), where the Weighted Net Balance (SBT) grew 11.70 percent or higher compared to growth in the first quarter of 2025 which reached 7.63 percent.

Executive Director of the BI Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, said that the increase in business activities was driven by the increase in the performance of the majority of Business Fields (LU), especially the LU Administration of Government, Defense, and Social Security.

"In line with the realization of the Government's budget according to its seasonal pattern, as well as the LU Industry for Processing and LU for the provision of Accommodation and Drinking in line with maintained demand during the series of National Religious Holidays (HBKN) during the second quarter of 2025," he said in a written statement, Friday, July 18.

He also revealed that the production capacity used in the second quarter of 2025 was recorded at 73.58 percent, an increase compared to the first quarter of 2025 which was 73.25 percent.

Denny conveyed that the increase was mainly supported by LU Mining and Excavation and LU Electricity Procurement.

Furthermore, he said that respondents predicted business activities in the third quarter of 2025 to continue to increase with an SBT of 11.98 percent.

"Business activities are predicted to increase, especially from the improvement in the performance of the Construction LU in line with the start of several projects, both the government and the private sector as well as the Mining and Excavation LU in line with the maintenance of demand," he said.
