JAKARTA - PT Krakatau Steel (Persero) Tbk plans to be involved in the ongoing 3 million houses program.

This step was taken as an effort to develop steel downstream products.

Director of Human Resources of Krakatau Steel, Agus Nizar Vidiansyah, said the company continues to carry downstream products that have the potential to provide optimal profit for the company.

"Some of the things that are being targeted by us, the first is to support the government's program, namely the provision of 3 million houses, then also pipelined infrastructure," he said in an incidental public expose online on Friday, July 11.

Not only that, Agus said, Krakatau Steel is also committed to supporting the automotive industry in fulfilling the provisions of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN).

Krakatau Steel has several downstream steel products including light steel for various contraction applications such as the C (CNP) channel, asymmetric reng, to the Talang plate.

In addition, the company also produces other downstream products for the automotive industry which include hot sheet steel or hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) steel.

"We support domestic components for automotive development," he explained.

On the other hand, Agus said that in an effort to improve the financial plan (RPK), the company not only boosted steel production and downstream steel products but also encouraged the productivity of subsidiaries.

Agus said the company also supports business expansion through its subsidiaries.

As in Krakatau Tirta, he explained, the company that focuses on water treatment is expanding its business to Gresik, East Java and Sumbawa, NTB.

In the field of port management, continued Agus, PT Krakatau Bandar Samudera (KBS) or known as Krakatau International Port plans to develop a logistics port to Palembang and Kalimantan.

"So, this will continue to be carried out progressively by its subsidiaries with the core focus of each (business) and the company is optimistic that it will be able to create significant added value for all stakeholders," he said.
