PGN cooperates with Taniyuk, which is a digital agribusiness startup, so that it can collaborate with the Padetra Artomulyo Cooperative as a rubber farmer institution in Pagar Dewa Village, Lubai Ulu District, Muara Enim Regency.
"TaniyukApp allows farmers to record liquid latex harvests directly from their cellphones. Recording latex harvests is collected on one device, which belongs to the treasurer of the Padetra Artomulyo cooperative," explained PGN Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, in his statement, Thursday, July 10.
The harvest is weighed on the cooperative, then recorded digitally, and the price is determined based on the quality of the Dry Rubber Content (DRC). After the balance results up to the industry (off-taker) through TaniyukApp, farmers will receive a notification of the amount and value of the transaction, and can disburse payments through Laku Pandai partners or bank transfers.
For years, rubber farmers in Pagar Dewa Village sell frozen rubber (lump), whose prices fluctuate and depend heavily on the tengkulak. This condition makes the bargaining position of farmers weak and the balancing system which is not always accurate.
