Former Badminton Athlete Taufik Hidayat Appointed As Commissioner Of PLN EPI

JAKARTA - A subsidiary of PT PLN (Persero), PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) has reshuffled the company's board of commissioners by appointing a former national badminton athlete and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Taufik Hidayat as commissioner.

This news was confirmed by the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) Anggawira who is also the commissioner of the PLN business son.

"Yes, that's right. It's ready at the end of last June," he said when confirmed, Wednesday, July 9.

Anggawia also said there were at least seven shareholder messages to the new board of commissioners, including strengthening the resilience of the national primary energy supply by ensuring the reliability of coal supply, pipeline gas, LNG, and other primary energy for all PLN Group generators, with long-term contract schemes, diversification of suppliers, and mapping logistics risks as well as building strategic stock buffers, especially for LNG and coal, in order to anticipate geopolitical disruptions or natural disasters.

Second, optimizing the primary energy portfolio by rebalancing the primary energy mix to reduce the cost of providing electricity (BPP), while still paying attention to national energy transition policies and encouraging the use of domestic primary energy, including domestic coal, national gas, and local biomass potential.

Third, efficiency in supply chains and trade governance such as increasing logistics efficiency and primary energy trading management, including the procurement digitization system, price transparency, and integration of land-sea transportation.

Next evaluate and develop an aggregator pricing and blended fuel scheme to optimize fuel costs.

Fourth, accelerate the development of gas infrastructure and LNG by accelerating the development and optimization of LNG regasification, small LNG terminals, and gas pipelines, especially in eastern Indonesia and preparing beyond pipeline strategies: including the development of CNG and mini-LNG, as well as synergy cooperation with SOEs and the private sector.

Fifth, support the energy transition in stages, sixth, to carry out digital transformation and corporate governance.
