PGN Gagas is preparing a number of steps to increase the use of BBG (Bakar Gas) for public transportation vehicles such as bajaj, transportation service applicator partners to private vehicles.

According to PGN Gagas President Director, Santiaji Gunawan, that in building the BBG ecosystem, it is necessary to pay attention to infrastructure, supply and demand or demand.

He detailed that PGN Gagas is currently managing 11 SPBGs (Gass Fuel Filling Stations) which are built itself located in Jakarta, West Java, Banten, East Java, Lampung to the Riau Islands. In addition, PGN Gagas also has 4 MRU (Mobile Refueling Units) moving as needed. Well, to overcome the scarcity of SPBG. PGN Gagas will manage Pertamina's SPBG," he said.

PGN Gagas is not only thinking about how to get BBG, according to Santiaji that it is being designed to build a BBG vehicle repair shop in several SPBGs. "Currently there are only 2 BBG vehicle workshops, so this is also an obstacle for fellow BBG users," he explained.

Not enough, he is also currently compiling a proposal for a BBG Converter financing scheme with a bundling scheme.

"We have proposed to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Director of Planning and Infrastructure Development for this bundling scheme or converter installments and get a positive response. So if every day the installment is IDR 2,000, at least 1 year and 4 months is finished and the converter belongs to them," he explained.

Actually PGN Gagas already has another program that has been running so far. According to the Head of Komogas (Gas Car Community), Andy Lala, that PGN Gagas has a BBG converter kit loan program.

"Only in the future the concept may be adjusted to findings in the field so that it can be more mitigating. For example, cooperation with financing companies or the best scheme from Gagas," he hoped.

He admitted that his community consists of 450 people who generally work as partners for public vehicle service applicators.

"Our number is only 450 because many do not know the benefits," he said.

In fact, according to him, the use of BBG can reduce the cost of fuel by up to 55 percent compared to using fuel (Bakar Oil).

"Earlier, the fuel load was Rp. 300-Rp. 400 thousand per day, now we use BBG of Rp. 170 thousand per day. So if we walk 400 KM a month at a rate of Rp. 5,000 per kilo, the partner's income is Rp. 20 million with savings of Rp. 6.6 million per month," he said. But recently, he said, fellow applicator partners met to find out about the use of BBG. "Moreover, we often joked for our friends if the BBG car was not subsidized, you know," he joked.

By using BBG, consumers use 2 separate fuels or Bi-Fuel. Bi-Fuel is a fuel system that allows machines to use two separate types of fuel, not a mixture, namely fuel oil (BBM) and fuel gas (BBG). The Bi-Fuel system allows engines to operate using fuel and BBG as vehicle fuel in turn.

The excess use of BBG in vehicles includes: 1) Reduced fuel consumption: by using BBG as additional fuel, fuel consumption can be reduced, so that it can save operational costs; 2) Reduce exhaust emissions because BBG has lower emission levels compared to fuel; and 3) Increasing efficiency: The Bi-Fuel system can increase engine efficiency, because BBG can help improve the combustion process.
