JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) noted that the increase in reference prices (HR) and the price of export benchmarks (HPE) of cocoa beans were influenced by the decline in production from producing countries.

Quoting Antara, the HR cocoa beans for the June 2025 period was set at 9,591.52 US dollars per MT, an increase of 1,207.77 US dollars or 14.41 percent from May 2025.

This has an impact on increasing the Export Patokan Price (HPE) of cocoa beans in June 2025 to 9,127 US dolaes per MT, up 1,178 or 14.82 percent from the period May 2025.

"The increase in HPE and cocoa beans is influenced by a decline in production in major producing countries in West Africa due to high rainfall," said Plt. Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Isy Karim.

This price increase did not have an impact on BK cocoa beans which remained at 15 percent. This is in accordance with the column 4 Attachment Letter B to PMK Number 38 of 2024.

Furthermore, HPE for skin products for the period of June 2025 did not change from May 2025. The determination of the HPE for cocoa beans, HPE for skin products, and HPE for wood products is stated in the Decree of the Minister of Trade Number 1483 of 2025 concerning Export Patokan Prices and Reference Prices for Agricultural and Forestry Products Subjected to Exit Customs.
