PT Berkat Cawang Energi (BCE) has begun to carry out a series of public socialization related to the plan to build two strategic hydroelectric projects (PLTA), namely the Cibuni 3 hydropower plant and Cimandiri 3 hydropower plant in West Java.

The socialization that was held some time ago includes eleven villages in five sub-districts in Sukabumi Regency and Cianjur Regency. BCE conveyed project technical information, compensation mechanisms, and corporate social responsibility policies to the community and local village officials.

"We believe that the success of renewable energy projects depends heavily on the support and involvement of the community from the start. Therefore, a transparent and open approach is our priority in every socialization activity," said BCE President Director David Chandra Trisjono, Tuesday, May 20.

He explained that the activities began in Warungkiara District and continued to Cidadap, Agrabinta, Cijati, and Jampangtengah Districts. The BCE team, including the Nanung Technical Manager and Expert Staff Chandra Manggih Rahayu, was present to explain the stages of the project, profit change procedures, relocation, and post-development economic empowerment programs.

Each session was attended by village officials, community leaders, and representatives of residents. The topics discussed include environmental impacts, involvement of residents in project supervision, and the principle of justice in the compensation mechanism. All activities took place conducively and received positive responses from the community.

BCE emphasized that all affected land will receive compensation in the form of compensation for profit, not just compensation. For relocated residents, the company prepares a decent relocation scheme and supports improving welfare through local socio-economic programs.

"This series of socialization is part of BCE's strategy to ensure that the entire development process is carried out according to Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) principles. Community active support is proof that open communication and participatory can build mutual trust," said David.
