PLTB Developers Ask The Government To Ready Greenfund To Map Potential Wind Locations

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Wind Energy Association, Feiral Rizki Batubara, asked the government to prepare a green fund to fund the creation of meteorological towers that are useful for calculating wind potential in certain areas.

According to him, so far the existing meteorological tower has only been established by the developer of the Bayu Power Listrik Plant (PLTB), even though the government has also set the EBT target and supporting regulations.

"So far, if it's from a developer, wind data must be 3 years so that the wind is valid or not. That's from the developer who provides the data," he said in the Enery Corner quoted Monday, March 24.

He added that it would be better if the government had set the EBT a priority for future energy providers to participate in providing fund allocations for the search for wind potential data in Indonesia.

This, he said, resembles the initial exploration data offered by the government at the oil and gas work area (WK) auction.

"It's the same as oil and gas. The government has early exploration data before it auctions off so that developers have regional preferences, is it okay or not," he continued.

With the initial data provided by the government, Feiral said, the next vulnerability that will be implemented by the PLTB developer is only to check, validate and update data. For this reason, he expects the government through the Ministry of Finance to prepare a green fund for wind maps,

"You can put the funds to BMKG so that we know which locations can get better wind," he continued.

Furthermore, Feiral added, in fact the government has issued a number of good policies for the EBT program, but it still seems that it is not focused because there are many variants of renewable energy available.

"We from the organization expect fiscal incentives from the Ministry of Finance, whether it is a tax holiday, tax expression (taxualization) and tax reduction," he said.
