OJK Reveals 58 Thousand People Become Victims Of Fraud, Total Loss Reaches IDR 1 Trillion

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) expressed that the total reports received at the Financial Transaction Fraud Handling Center or Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC) were 58,206.

To note, the total number of reports from the start of operation is from November 22, 2024, to February 24, 2025.

The Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial Services Business Actors, Education and Protection of OJK Consumers, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said that the total losses reported by the public reached Rp1 trillion.

"The total loss was reported at Rp1 trillion," said the woman who is familiarly called Kiki in a media briefing at the Radius Prawiro Tower, Tuesday, March 11.

Kiki said the number of reported accounts was 64,888 accounts and the number of accounts that had been blocked was 28,807.

"So if my friends have such frauds, just report them immediately, because we will immediately block them," he explained.

Kiki increased the amount of victims' funds that had been blocked by Rp. 127.3 billion and his party still needed longer time and process related to blocking victims' funds.

"Well, now we still need a longer process, a little longer, because sometimes there are a lot of scams, but the balance in the account is only that much," he said.

In addition, Kiki conveyed that the IASC target was to delay transactions (blocking) fraud quickly and save victims' funds, identify fraud perpetrators (data), and take legal action in collaboration with the Police.

In addition, Kiki said that those who are victims of fraud can immediately report this through the IASC website with the address http://iasc.ojk.go.id by attaching data and related evidence documents.

In addition, they can directly report to banks where they open an example account when opening an account at the Himbara bank, they can directly report this to their respective call centers.

"So far, 39,243 have reported to the PUJK directly, some have gone to IASC directly, it's 18,963. So ether one is fine because they are members of the IASC, they will be followed up immediately," he explained.
