JAKARTA - The largest furniture and handicraft exhibition in the country, namely the Indonesia International Furniture Expo (IFEX) 2025, was officially opened by the Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday, March 6.
This IFEX 2025 features more than 3,000 superior products made of various materials such as wood, rattan, bamboo, skin, wood as well as various other art and handicraft products.
"On behalf of the government, we express our highest gratitude and appreciation to all parties who have contributed to the success of IFEX this time, especially very much appreciation to the Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI)," said Faisol when inaugurating the opening of IFEX 2025.
Faisol appreciated HIMKI for being able to become a forum for many industries and companies. The association is considered capable of bringing Indonesia's manufacturing industry to life, especially in the furniture and furniture sectors.
"The furniture industry sector continues to contribute to the national economy, especially because of the environmentally friendly future furniture trend, integrated with technology, multifunctional design, modular and customized. On the other hand, the use of 4.0 technology such as AR also makes it easier to shop for furniture online," said Faisol.
"Also on the production side, 3D printing technology has helped a lot for industrial designs or products from this furniture and handicraft industry," he continued.
Faisol hopes that furniture industry players will continue to innovate in designing furniture using environmentally friendly raw materials and helpers, implementing technology more efficiently and implementing the circular economy concept.
So that it can produce innovative furniture products based on core design.
"With the maximum efforts of all industry players, government stakeholder support and other supporting power, we are optimistic that the productivity of the furniture industry will increase exports and meet market needs abroad and within the country," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of HIMKI Abdul Sobur emphasized that the IFEX 2025 exhibition shows the determination of exporters in the furniture and handicraft industry to show their love for Indonesia.
"We are confident that one day exports for our furniture industry can reach 5 billion US dollars, at least by the end of 2030," he explained.
Meanwhile, Sobur hopes that the transaction on the spot that occurs at the IFEX 2025 exhibition can reach 300,000 US dollars or around IDR 4.5 trillion.
"The largest is usually followed up, so that transactions can be even bigger. We detected that among the members of HIMKI it could reach 1 billion US dollars (transactions), even more. So, 60 percent of our total national exports are indeed supported at this IFEX exhibition," he said.
